What about playing Rubik cube when we can see only the same three facets which share the same vertice ? View of configuration on three facets don't fully define the another three facets, so until we gain full information about colours of hidden squares, the optimal algorithm have to be different. I can't find any research about solving Rubik cube with imperdect information
